Dog Walk-A-Thon

From 11:00AM to 3:00PM

The Montgomery County SPCA will hold its 10th anniversary Dog Walk-A-Thon at Shuttleworth Park on Crescent Avenue in Amsterdam. Proceeds will benefit the MCSPCA’s New Animal Shelter Building Fund. There is a general admission fee of $5.00 per person, with children under age 15 free. Dog Walk, prizes, contests, adoption clinics, vendors, rescues, demonstrations, an anniversary cake and more! MVAS Solar Observation

The Mohawk Valley Astronomical Society (MVAS) will have Solar Observing at Herkimer County Community College's Fall Fest, weather permitting, on the lawn next to the Campus Center, 100 Reservoir Rd, Herkimer.

Jackie Cosamano Benefit

Jackie Cosamano was diagnosed in January with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Since then she has been undergoing chemotherapy. Unfortunately the cancer has spread, so her family and friends are planning a benefit in her honor. Jackie will soon be heading to Sloan Kettering in New York City in hopes of a cure. Any donations would help greatly: food, drinks, or monetary donations. The benefit is at the Deerfield Firehouse. Tickets are $20 a person or $50 for a family. Info.: JoinJackiesFight@gmail.com

Greater Utica Girls 4th Annual Fall Harvest Fest

The Greater Utica Girls Softball League is hosting their 4thannual Fall Harvest Fest on Saturday September 29, and Sunday September 30th, 2012 at the Cinderella Softball fields in the North Utica Park on Woodbury Drive from 9 am to 5 pm. There will be artists, crafters, vendors, live entertainment, children activities, food, raffles, hay rides and more!

Admission to the event is free and there is plenty of Free parking! There will also be a 16U Fast Pitch Softball Tournament.
