Regatta

Sailors and spectators alike will be setting course for Oneida Lake June 8 and 9 for a J/24 Class District 7 Pennant Series Regatta. The two-day, five-race event is sponsored by the Oneida Lake Sailing Club and will set sail from Callahan’s and Oneida Lake Marinas on the southeast corner of the lake off NY Route 31. Racing on the eastern end of Oneida Lake will be visible from North and South Bay as well as the Verona and Sylvan Beach areas. Racing will commence both Saturday and Sunday at 10 A.M., with registration, check-in and skipper’s meetings beforehand. Weekend festivities will also include a Friday happy hour, dinner on Saturday, and a complimentary concluding awards picnic on Sunday afternoon. A hoist will be available at Callahan’s Marina for launching sailboats, with temporary dockage also part of the facilities, beginning Friday, June 7, from 10 A.M. to 8 P.M. Pancake Breakfast Fundraiser

From 8:30AM to 11:30AM

Johnstown Moose Club, 109 South Comrie Avenue, Johnstown. All proceeds go towards the Shooting Stars Dance team. Please help them attend the national competition. Menu includes pancakes, eggs, ham, sausage, orange jucie and coffee. Cost is $6.00.

Cassville Fire Department Chicken Barbecue

The Cassville Fire Department will be hosting their annual chicken barbecue, Sunday June 9th at the Route 8 Firehouse From Noon until 3:PM. Tickets are $9.00, and takeouts are available.

“DAR and Charleston Revolutionary Patriots”

From 2:00PM to 7:00PM

The Charleston Historical Society will be hosting “DAR and Charleston Revolutionary Patriots” featuring guest speaker Irene Hauser of Gloversville on Sunday, June 9th at 2:00 p.m. The Annual Flag Retirement Ceremony will follow the presentation and the public is encouraged to bring their tattered United States flags for disposal. There is no charge for the program and a free country picnic including hot dogs, hamburgers and salads will follow the program. Farmers' Museum Horse Show

Equestrians test their horsemanship skills on a beautifully designed course with jumps that represent Cooperstown landmarks. Eleven hunter and equitation classes. Admission is free for the general public. The show begins at 8:00 a.m., rain or shine. Held at Iroquois Farm Showgrounds, 1527 County Highway 33 in Cooperstown

Rhythm on the Ridge

Rhythm on the Ridge (ROTR) is upstate New York's finest little roots music festival! Hosted by the Flood Road band, the event is held on the scenic grounds of Maple Ski Ridge, in Rotterdam. Each June, the fest features over two dozen local and regional bands and artists performing original roots music on two stages! The fest also has a variety of crafters & vendors, children's activities, music workshops, open mic, food, beverages and more! Field pickin' is welcome, so bring along your instruments! Single day or weekend ticket, and overnight camping are available. Children 16 and under are free with a paid adult entry. Two-day adult ticket only $15.! Sunday morning, Pic with Pancake Breakfast and Open Mic 9AM-12PM, and then it's back on stage for more great local performers! ROTR will be held on June 8th & 9th, 2013.
