Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes

From 9:00AM to 1:00PM

Step Out Walk To Stop Diabetes takes place at beautiful Green Lakes State Park. Entrance and Parking are FREE to participants. This event has 3 routes (1 mile, 2 miles & 3 miles) which are designed for all fitness levels, taking you through the tranquil trails surrounding Green & Round Lakes. Participants will enjoy music, healthy foods & drinks. Wellness Village will provide valuable information and practical resources that will help you improve your health. Funds raised as part of this annual event support the mission of the American Diabetes Association – to prevent and cure diabetes and to improve the lives of all people affected by diabetes. Through our mission we support over 400 research projects nationwide, advocacy, educational materials, Camp Aspire for kids and community outreach for all individuals with Type 1, Type 2, Gestational and Pre-Diabetes. As Bug Country is a sponsor of this event, join the caravan to Step Out Walk as the Bug Country Van travels West on the Thruway. Canajoharie Farmers Market

Every Saturday at Atwell Museum parking lot in Canajoharie on Erie street. Come sample local goat milk cheese , vegetables, meat, eggs, handmade goat milk soap and all natural dog treats.

"Ghosts of the Past" Tours

From 6:00PM to 8:00PM

“Ghosts of the Past” Walking Tours at Green Hill Cemetery in Amsterdam. Do you have the courage to walk the historic Green Hill Cemetery in the dark? Are you interested in learning more about the people who lived in Amsterdam in the 19th and early 20th centuries - and may have decided to stay around and keep a watchful eye on their city? Tours start at Amsterdam City Hall, 61 Church Street, where parking will be available and ticket holders will check in and receive a voucher with their tour time. The tour assignments are on a first come, first served basis so please plan to arrive early. “Ghosts of the Past” Tours will begin promptly at 6:00 P.M. with a new tour departing approximately every 20 minutes until 8:00 P.M. and will last approximately 45 minutes. Sturdy walking shoes are recommended as the tour will be over uneven ground in Green Hill Cemetery. While you’re waiting for your tour, or after your return, there will be plenty to do at City Hall. There will be ghostly stories to listen to, a palm reader, psychics, and free refreshments.
