5th Annual BASE Race 5K/10K

The 5th Annual "Be A Superior Example" (BASE) Race, The Hall of Fame’s newest hit is embarking on an extended “run” in Cooperstown, and this year, the popular BASE Race is returning to Memorial Day Weekend with the same course as last year, as part of Hall of Fame Classic Weekend festivities.The National Baseball Hall of Fame and Museum, along with Cooperstown’s Clark Sports Center, will present the fifth annual BASE Race charity runs – a 5k fun run and competitive 10k events -- starting and ending at historic Doubleday Field and featuring new courses that wind through scenic Cooperstown and along the warning track of the historic ballpark. The race events benefit the Museum’s “Be A Superior Example” program promoting healthy lifestyle choices for individuals of all ages.Fans are encouraged to support their favorite major league team as part of the 2016 BASE Race, as selected former major league players will be a part of the race activities, as the lead-off event to a full day of programming for the Hall of Fame Classic on May 28. Registration for the 2016 BASE Race is $25 and $55 for families. Each registered runner will receive a T-shirt (for the first 300 runners to register), goodie bag, a free general admission ticket to the Hall of Fame Classic valid on May 28. On race day, registration will be $30 for individuals and $65 for families. The Annual Central Adirondack Kiwanis, Town of Webb School Key Club and Builders Club Free Car Wash is at Calypso’s Cove parking lot in Old Forge. Proceeds will be used to support all of the Kiwanis Club’s childrens’ activities throughout the year.

Hall of Fame Classic

The game’s memories live forever in Cooperstown. And once every spring, the legends who authored the National Pastime’s greatest moments come together at the home of baseball for a weekend that has truly become a Classic.The 2016 Hall of Fame Classic, presented by Ford Motor Company, will be held on Saturday, May 28 at Cooperstown’s historic Doubleday Field. Now in its eighth year, the Classic will feature several Hall of Fame members as well as players representing all 30 major league teams in a seven-inning legends game at Doubleday Field. New in 2016, the Classic moves to 1 p.m. starting time in 2016, with the popular Home Run Derby starting at noon.Tickets for the 2016 Hall of Fame Classic will go on sale at 9 a.m. EST on Monday, March 7 at www.baseballhall.org or via phone at 1-877-726-9028.
